Can you juggle a triathlon?

This weekend is the Accenture Chicago Triathlon. I will not be joggling this one but my GMW Relay teammate, Brandon will be so I wanted to wish him and all the other peoplebicycle juggling doing it good luck.  Good luck to Wes on his triathlon this weekend too!

I actually did a triathlon back in the summer of 2000.  It was only a super-sprint distance but it was great fun.  No joggling however.  Back then I only joggled during marathons, not much during training.

It is my wish someday to “swuggle”, “buggle”, and “joggle” my way through an entire triathlon. I can already joggle. I can also juggle while riding a bike however, slowing down could be a significant problem.

Swimming and juggling is really a challenge. You obviously can’t do a standard crawl stroke. I’ve been able to do a backstroke while juggling upwards but the arms do not help at all with forward propelling. Perhaps it’ll just take some practice. It can be my next challenge after joggling the 50 miler or the 100 miler.

  1. Thanks for the shout out 🙂 My guess is they would not let you juggle on the bike for safety reasons… Juggling while swimming would be a real trick, since most of your propulsion comes from your arms…. LOL. Have a great weekend!
